Cake Decorating Classes

The Sugarcraft School aims to assist other creatives and cake designers to really gain confidence and master the skills required to create truly breath-taking cakes at a professional level. Rachel uses her wealth of cake decorating knowledge and expertise, ten successful years in the wedding industry and her background in business to bring a unique set of classes that will teach you the secrets behind her success and how you can take your cakes to the next level.

There are resources available for all levels and include everything from downloadable guides right through to private 1:1 masterclasses held in person at the Heaton Moor studio.

I did the one day Professional Basics class and absolutely loved it!! Working in a spectacular kitchen space with all the materials necessary, we learned how to stack, ganache and sugarpaste a cake, as well as arranging fresh flowers. Rachel is a really fantastic teacher who made the class really happy and laid back, and let us ask lots of questions. I’ve come away feeling confident in my cake making skills and excited to use them, as well as lots of tips gained to start a business. I highly recommend this course!

I can’t recommend The Sugarcraft School enough! I had a 1 : 1 session and Rachel was fantastic! I was really struggling to make macarons and I couldn’t think of anyone else I’d rather have show me how to make them! She tailored the class to what I wanted to learn, fitting in two types of sugar flowers and macarons, which all turned out perfectly! Rachel was incredibly patient and shared a wealth of knowledge while showing me step by step techniques and potential pitfalls. If you are considering booking a class - do it, it is 100% worth it!
